If you’re looking for something more organized when in Charlotte and the surrounding area, here are some awesome Charlotte tours you should check out. (PS, our Uber driver told us that the Downtown area is called Uptown because it is actually the highest point in the city).
It’s an interactive space where you can make your own driver identity card, try out one of the many racing simulators, practice a pit stop, and explore displays of physical cars from famous racers. There are plenty of options for all kids regardless of their swimming level, from a toddler friendly shallow pool to the deeper swimming areas that include water basketball. The house itself, built in 1815 by merchant and tax collector Archibald Frew, is known and admired for being one of the best pieces of Federal period architecture in North Carolina. Restoration and work on the historic gardens are continuing, but public tours are available and certainly worth a visit. The guides are very informative and entertaining and you’re guaranteed to learn a lot about the spooky side of Charlotte. The tour is suitable for all ages, (with kids 7 and under going free) and lasts about 90 minutes, so make sure you’ve got your walking shoes on.

Authorities eventually shot Hughes, who was pronounced dead on the front lawn.

Most of the vendors are restaurants, but there’s retail too in the form of a fine stationery shop and another selling plants and terrariums. It’s a great spot for lunch, business meetings or simply to whittle away a couple of hours in one of the city’s busiest entertainment centers.
You can also always find an interesting and exciting film on deck at the largest IMAX screen in the Carolinas. Fun for all ages, it’s a great way to explore the world around us.
